action and mystery just a little romance and spice to make the story one that you wished continues. hopefully there will be another book in this set .
What a great romance read this book is. I love this space crew. Can't wait till the next Blood Hunter book. Will miss the missing crewmembers.
Excellent blend of SciFi, contemporary romance and the paranormal! Was riveting right from the start to the end and truly hard to have to put down. Rico and Skylar are my favorite pair but they are definitely not the only engaging and fascinating couples in this series of books. Breakout is the first in the series and should be read first and I guarantee you will be so glad you did!
First read the Blood Hunter trilogy by Nina Croft fell in love with that series and had to read the Dark Desire trilogy with both series I fell in love with the hero and heroine of each book there was plenty of humor alpha males protecting their women and the alpha female equally intent on protecting their man, and lets not forget the steamy sex (not too much/nor to little) and the plots were not overly complex. Also, I enjoyed how Nina looped each of the main characters from each of the previous books into the next ones and kept the comradery going. I'm really hoping that Nina will write more with both the Blood Hunter and Dark Desire series ... I believe she left characters in each series to extend the series. I am a HUGE supernatural fan and believe both series are 5 star worthy.
I stumbled across this series and immediately fell in love with Tannis, Rico and the rest of the crew. This series combines several elements pretty well. A little space western, paranormal romance. The first novel was Rico's and this one is about Tannis. I liked the paranormal aspect and the only reason I use the term space western because of the initial story and the prevalent use of the word reckon. Occasionally, it took me out of the story but it was a well written story so it wasn't a huge problem, just one of those little quirks you notice. I really enjoyed the series. This novel was no exception and I just hope the next one is coming out quickly!
I love this series and I would have given this book five stars EXCEPT the author kills off two fairly major secondary characters. And she does it AFTER hinting at a budding romance between them. The deaths are all off-page and told to the reader so suddenly and then glossed over, that I was left with my mouth hanging open thinking "WTF just happened?" I felt very cheated as a reader. I was invested in these characters for three books and was hoping to learn more about them as they are rather mysterious. And then she just kills them in a way that was too convenient. Felt like it was done simply to move the plot in a certain direction rather than because it made sense or worked with the story.
