Yuri Skurikov, a CIA agent and the older brother of Alexei's girlfriend, appears and offers Alexei a Hobson's choice assist Yuri in foiling the sale of a Russian submarine by Viktor Boujinsky, aka the Merchant of Death, to the leader of a Colombian drug cartel or face prosecution for the Greek's murder. The flippant, even irreverent, Alexei Kikalisvilli often entertains during his tragic global quest for revenge against the Russian Mafiya.

This was a great second novel. You can tell how much research went into this endeavor. I felt like I was reading early Ian Fleming. I'm looking forward to the sequel. A great read and a lot of fun.Product details

Refreshing in his professionalism as a writer, Ed Richbourg sets up a tale of revenge and espionage that rivals some of the greatest writers in the genre. Using the first person point-of-view, Richbourg is able to bring the reader fully into his main character's world. At the same time, this approach enables the author to create a unique character in Alexei Kikalishvili. Alexei is at once a man who is skilled from his former profession as a spy for Russia and yet, a man the reader finds to be vulnerable because of his present life as coach and guardian for a young tennis player.
Richbourg's research shows in the richness of details about the locations and history of the many countries and cultures involved in this tale. It helps create mental images that not only sweep you along, but also give credibility to the storyline.
You will not regret beginning "White Russian," and I guarantee that you'll have no trouble finishing it! The fact that the adventures of Alexei Kikalishvili are carried forward into Richbourg's sequel, "Black Russian," is a delightful bonus!

Very entertaining and engaging. If you enjoy mystery and intrigue, White Russian is written with you in mind. An interesting first person narrative with great detail. Easy to read and hard to put down. Can't wait for Black Russian.
